So, I just thought of something.

If last year was supposedly the year of Satan(6/6/06), does that make this year the year of "God"?(7/7/07)
Or do people only freak out when Satan is suppsed to come a'knockin?
I mean, Satan is not evil in all of his incarnations - in one, Satan refused to accept humans as his higher, and only god as his higher(if you go on the idea of "Satan" and "Lucifer" being the same person, as most do.), thus, he became a fallen angel.

But I just think that modernized roman catholics and cristgens took Pan, shaved him naked, painted him red, gave him bat wings and filed doen his horns.

Pan(L) and Daphnis
And, albeit wingless:
The devil

Not that I really care to defend Satan - think the majority of cristgianity is widely based upon judiasim, with a bit of Paotai(Cactus) halucinations, and I think Satanisim is plain out STUPID.(A religion based on the anti-thesis of a religion? FTW?)
But, comon, if last year the world was supposed to end, and god was to take the few chosen and leave us to die, who's to say that's not gonna "really" happen this year?
I mean, the world was also supposed to end in Y1k, Y2K, 6/6/1906, ect, ect, ect.

But, let's be serious - the world is gonna REALLY end when:
The sun goes POP.
We nuke da world.
We use up our resources and die.

Then when either of those happen, the sun exploding will create a new star, that will grow to the size of the sun over a few millenia(which time is only defined by humans, anyway.) it will pull in new planets, a giant space rock will smack into a planet, and it will become another "earth." It will be inhabited by creatured that evolves to live on that land, and maybe, just somehow, what we know as a homosapien will come to evolve. And that being, will create another religon widely followed by the masses, and eventually get trumped by a "better religion".
